Beaches along the north Norfolk coastline are truly magnificent.

You can hardly miss hitting the coastline at some stage and taking in one of the beaches, while on a weekend break Norfolk, in fact.

And there's nothing more exhilarating than a stroll along one of them.

But bear in mind many of them have their own distinct qualities and appeals. Stay at any hotel in North Norfolk and the reception staff will be more than happy to give you advice on which beach to go for.

Or Wells with its picturesque arc of beach huts along the wooded shoreline, there is the fabulous expanse of Holkham beach.

Brancaster is a delight while Sheringham has pebbles and Cromer is a mix of sand and stone but with the wonderful panorama of the historic pier reaching like a finger out to sea and the magnificent backdrop of the town dominated by the gigantic parish church, further along the coastline.

Several beaches are also dog-friendly with specific stretches set aside for people to enjoy the walk while their dog chases sticks or splashes around in the water. Whatever time of day or time of year you choose to visit, take a walk along any of them and you won't be disappointed.

Regular visitors to the region soon find their own particular favourites and after a while whenever you come back and say in North Norfolk hotels you'll soon be off to a specific beach for a refreshing stroll.

Swimming in the sea of the Norfolk coastline can be fun and very refreshing too, it can be cool but in the warmer summer months when the sun is shining. They are also great for playing on with the children or even having a swim in the sea.
